USA Weather Extremes in the Classroom

The recent extreme weather conditions in the USA have thrown up some fantastic resources on the web and via social media for use in the classroom – like the wonderful temperature map above – courtesy of Grant Tremblay (@astrogrant)

However, some teachers might like to approach this subject from a rather different angle. Why not use one of these image as a lesson starter to get a reaction from the students?
